Date: 2004-04-02 07:55 am (UTC)My takes/comments.
Date: 2004-04-02 10:23 pm (UTC)*Van Helsing - I think this movie looks absolutely beautiful, but all I heard about it was, "Damn it, they changed blahdeedah it's gonna suck." Damn fanboys ruin everything. This is why I hate comics-movies, the little pissants whine about everything.
*Troy - Less than interested, but it'll probably get good reviews. Epics... *sigh* it's impossible for them to NOT get good reviews, I think. Fucking CGI, now movies are even more cliched and fake.
Shrek 2 - I can stand to miss it.
*Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - It's about time! My favorite HP book! After this I don't care anymore...
*Chronicles of Riddick - ??? I thought this was a prequel, not a sequel? However, it matters not. Vin Diesal is a fucking idiot and can't act and should be tossed out. End of story.
Garfield - CGI=bad. Animation mixed with real time=bad (except for Who Framed Roger Rabbit?). The idea=bad. This movie=bad. Oh, and Jim Davis=bad because I doubt he even writes those fucking comics anymore. They've been the same fucking jokes for the past five years.
Around the World in 80 Days - Not heard of it...
*Spiderman 2 - Oh yeah, and I'll bet anything Spidey 3 is coming out a year or two afterwards. Fucking comics-movies.
*King Arthur - Don't like the tagline for the movie, but interested otherwise. However, isn't King Arthur a bit... overdone?
*The Bourne Supremacy - Me too. Albeit formulaic and cliched, it's like that in a good way. Almost like someone who says that their subculture IS poseur, and they make their subculture the precise act of trying to be others. It's style by ruining style. It's just great.
Catwoman - I have no idea. Halle Berry=no.
Alien Vs Predator - Yeah, and Superman Vs Batman, and Freddy Vs Jason II, and hell, why don't we put in Spiderman Vs X-men and George W Bush Vs Common Sense?
Resident Evil: Apocalypse - I've only been waiting for this for years...
The Devil's Rejects: House of 1000 Corpses 2 - Rob Zombie is a fucking idiot. Wait, let me take that back... Rob Zombie's stage persona is a fucking idiot. He's basically the epitome of someone trying to be shocking by being childish. Even his lyrics are childish!!! They deal with necrophilia, but they are so sing-song and horrible that it hardly matters! The same is true with House of 1000 Corpses: it's Rob trying to be some shocking little shock value of shocker shocks. Fuck him, he can disappear forever for all I care. This movie too.
*Alexander - Haven't heard of it, but guessing it's about Alexander the Great? Which I can conclude equals epic? Which I can conclude equals CGI? So that's what Hollywood is now, huh, CGI comics, CGI epics, and kitsch, also known as anything with Scary Movie humor. Don't get me wrong, I respect the Wayan Brothers, but I can stand to have those movies disappear with the House of 1000 Corpses. Maybe Rob Zombie in his shocking attempts at shock value shock can shock the socks off of CGI and kill two birds with one stone. Heh, wishful thinking...
*Blade: Trinity - Blade was the worst Vampire movie I've ever seen. Blade II was the worst MOVIE I've ever seen (wait, not true.. I forgot momentarily about Dude, Where's My Car?). Blade III... fuck it, I can't think of an original way to say I hate people.
*Star Wars, Ep 3 - Yayyy, let it end! I hate George Lucas, ever since I've become a big movie buff and watched a lot of movies I've found more and more reasons to realize that George Lucas is an unoriginal filmmaker whose really just a genius at franchising. He's a fucking One Hit Wonder. May he slowly slip into the oblivion of forgotten fame.
What about Kill Bill Vol. 2? I've been waiting for this for months, and it's almost out! Yay! Yay!
