Dream, the third of The Endless, you are in charge
of the Dreaming, all imagination and
creativity, everyone knows your beautiful
realm, but none truly understand it. You are
dark and brooding, creative, and spend a lot of
time by yourself, just thinking. You are almost
as serious as Destiny, but not quite. Everyone
is enchanted by you, but you keep them all at a
distance, even when you shouldn't.

Which Endless are you?

Are you a student of aikido? I study self-defense for myself now, but I'm a former hapkido student of years ago.

no, but I'm considering it, when I find a job that lets me afford it.

Last time I took any actual karate or such was in elementary school, karate, then, 9th grade, forced to do kickboxing, which I hated...now, I might get into Aikido, as I KNOW I'm way out of shape, and need to get back into shape :P and not a "round" shape..

Well, if you're looking for a high physical activity "get into shape" martial art, aikido is generally not regarded as such. Aikido belongs more to the "soft" forms, where one is taught to use an attacker's momentum against them with holds, throws and locks. Physical development is not at a premium, and although many aikido schools will teach weapon usage, it goes more to the mental/spiritual development rather than practical usage. You'll have to check into that before you join.

The more common "hard" forms would be like karate, kenpo, tae kwon do or kung fu if you're looking for physical discipline and development. But if you're low on funds and think you've got the self-discipline to take on a program on your own, Bruce Lee assembled a four-volume Fighting Method which lays out, to my eyes, an easy to understand and very effective program. He also offered much of his training methods in Tao of Jeet Kune Do which I regularly incorporate parts of with my daily workout. Those you could find at most any bookstore or even at the library. Just a couple thoughts for you.

my main problem with my body is I have almost no arm muscle :P mostly due to sitting at a computer most of the time, and very rarely lifting anything...

Aikido would at least get me moving, but as I'm not a very active person, wouldn't be TOO hard to get into...

of course, the place also teaches Judo and Jyodo, which I'm also interested in, just at a later date :P
