would you consider me masochistic if I said I am sorting my mp3s and such, at 4 in the morning, mostly using command line? using the explorerish program just to see whats there? :P
thats what I'm doing...mkdir whatever, mv *whatever* whatever ;)
taking a bit, but its quicker than drag and drop, surprisingly ;)
going to sleep now, after work tomorrow, going to finish it, hopefully, by the end of tomorrow, I'll have a damn nice sorted music folder :D and renamed mp3s, with proper ID3 tags :D

Date: 2004-09-18 10:48 am (UTC)and seeing as the files are named using many different naming conventions, I dunno what program would name em right :P

Date: 2004-09-18 07:45 pm (UTC)And it would name them right because it doesn't care about your current filenames. It uses audio fingerprinting against a DB of mp3s, and then renames and re-ID3s them according to that.

Date: 2004-09-18 08:32 pm (UTC)I just can't stand Windows anymore, not nearly as customizable as Linux, nor as stable (from what I've seen, and experienced)
Yeah, it might not have all the programs, but that doesn't bother me. I don't have to pay a shitload of money or steal it to get it. I have the entire Portage to search through (and have been using EasyTag today, which was in Portage).
that, and I do my text editing, moving files, and such, mostly in command line. The fact that, should I lose graphics, I can still edit configs to get them back is a plus :P Windows, you are screwed :P
